Everyone that visits our Wellbeing centre has a story…
At one of our recent family meetings we were discussing how as therapists and teachers we meet some truly inspiring people everyday. An important part of our roles are to really listen to our clients and their stories they have to share.
Then we thought, how great it would be to share all our stories too!
This week we spoke to Hilary Thompson, teacher Taijiwuxigong
What classes do you teach at PTW
Taijiwuxigong – spontaneous movement energy-work classes, and Buqi energy therapy
How did you become a teacher?
I first started attending Taijiwuxigong classes in 1997, and was fortunate to study with the founder of the system, Dr Shen Hongxun, as well as others who had studied with him for many years. I eventually went to live with the group of international students at Buqi Institute in Belgium, where Dr Shen was based.
What do you love about teaching?
I love working with people, sharing this practice, which I find so transformative and powerful.
What is your greatest professional achievement?
Having passed on knowledge that I believe to be very valuable
How do you relax?
Simple really – breath and smile!
Favourite place to relax in Brighton & Hove?
Hollingbury Hill – there’s a great view over the town and the sea.
What is your screen saver?
My teacher, Dr Shen Hongxun.
One piece of advise for life?
Appreciate the miracle you are!
As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
I knew I wanted to do something to help people.
